Gooseneck Hitch installed with safety
chain hook up for $275!
|
 |
"Our Double D gooseneck
hitch is the safest and most economical hitch you can have installed
in your vehicle. We take a one inch thick plate eight
inches wide and install it up underneath the bed of the truck.
Then we solid weld the plate directly to the chassis which
insures that the hitch will never come loose. After that we
weld the nut of a heat treated 30,000# capacity ball to the bottom of the
plate, cut 2 1/2" in diameter hole in the bed of the truck for the ball to
screw into and the job is complete. If you ever want to remove the
ball, simply screw the ball out from the top side. Pricing does
include a heavy duty safety chain hook up.
$275
**NOTE: Federal law now requires that all trailers have safety
chains.

Fold down Atwood hitch installed price
$450.00
--**If
you have a plastic bed liner, add $50.00
--**If you have a tool box in your truck and plastic bed liner,
add $200 or remove your tool box prior to bringing the truck.
Be sure your truck bed is CLEAN before
bringing to us!

| Questions About Towing with a Short Bed
Truck? |
|
You will need 36" from the center of your hitch ball to
the back window of the truck. There are many myths about towing and many
installers are really clueless. The facts are that you can use a short bed
truck on a trailer with a full nose (not tapered) and be okay. The key is
to put the ball in the correct place. Many bolt in style hitches will
automatically bolt to your chassis 6" approximately in front of the center
of the rear axle. However, in today's markets, tow ratings are increasing
and truck bed sizes are decreasing resulting in a need to move the center
of the ball farther away from the cab of the truck (36" needed). The above
style hitch can be installed where you need it. In some cases, if cross
rails on your truck prevent you from being 36" from the center of the cab,
you may use an offset hitch on the trailer costing $300 and this will gain
you 9" additional clearance from your cab. See the photos to the right and
below of the offset hitch installed on a Nissan Titan Truck. Notice the
trailer is behind the axle and tows great....

This offset coupler will gain you 9" more clearance from the cab of the
truck and cost $300 |

I received my 2 Horse Deluxe gooseneck trailer on April 21, 2007 and
took the first road trip with it on April 22. It is everything I had
hoped it would be! Brad was extremely helpful in answering my questions
and helping me know just what model would work best for my needs. I had
previously only owned bumper pull trailers, so I had some trepidation
regarding changing to a gooseneck, especially since I would be towing
with a short-bed truck. Again, Brad was very helpful in answering those
questions, even talking with the hitch installer regarding placement of
the hitch. Using an off-set hitch on the trailer took care of any
problems with clearance. It is a dream to haul and I fully expect to
enjoy using it for many, many years.
