How do we compare?

RawHide vs.  Exiss Sport

We recently had the privilege of having an Exiss Sport, 2004 model on our lot for comparison. Please review the information below and decide for yourself who has the best trailer. While this is not intended to be derogatory towards any company in particular, we simply used Exiss as a representation of the "average" aluminum trailer industry and felt that we should address many issues on quality.  We did the research for you.  If you like what you see from the competition, purchase from them. However, if you like what you see from us better, we would certainly appreciate the business! Feel free to comment on any thing in particular comments?

Exiss Sport w/8' short wall, 7' wide

We found that the small holding tanks ran front to rear and were too low, one is already broken, ours are side to side and larger capacity, recessed

No Step to get in the Door, step is standard on ours

We use day and night shade combos over all the windows, they work much better than the blindes used on this trailer as you can see.

Check out the size of these cabinets compared to ours, Double D Rawhide twice the size, more storage for sure, notice everything in here is "paneling"

Oops, this was a goof. The cabinet doors on the Exiss hits the A/C when you open it, nothing major, just an oversight, ours doesn't..

Interior of the cabinets are finished on this trailer which was surprising! However, we did notice plastic moldings and the cabinets pressboard.

Nose area is cramped for sleeping, TOO busy

While this is typical and cheap for the industry, ours is on a nice slide out and inside a cabinet

Appliance bar is decent, small compared to ours at 5', this one has only a single sink, double is standard on ours

This is the step to get in the bed area, we use a pull out ladder on the wide units which works much better and safer, cost more too

Overhead cabinets are much smaller than ours, this is where we put the TV, CD player everything all in one spot..theirs is scattered about.

Give the competition trailer the "Knee" test on their cabinets, you'll be surprised at how flemsy the 1/8" paneling is compared to our 1/2" thick oak!

Door will not swing around and takes up much room

While there is a closet in the bathroom, you better not plan on putting much in there, compare to ours where an adult can almost fit inside.

See what we mean, tow rolls of toilet paper is the width, if that.

Now this shower is pretty nice, not as large as our two person corner shower but I do like the soap holder, no separate sink in the bathroom like ours

Toilet is out in the middle of the floor with a jam packed closet behind it, NO separate sink and NOT much space..better not drop anything on.

The walk thru door swings into the horse, ours swings in the bathroom.

Rear saddle compartment is roomy but there again, you have to unload it all to collapse, our **TACK-Around works much better
